[82406] Russian wave of attacks on Kyiv: Reports of strikes on residential buildings and Dovzhenko studios
Large-scale attack on Kyiv
On June 15, 2026, Kyiv experienced a wave of massive airstrikes. According to the Telegram channel Киевский Движ, ten groups of cruise missiles were identified heading toward the capital. Reports from the ground indicate strikes on several civilian locations, including residential buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi and Obolonskyi districts, as well as a fire that broke out in the "Comfort Town" area.
Strike on a historic cultural institution
One of the main locations that sustained damage is the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studios. The channel SOTA, which reports with a critical line toward Russia, noted that the studios, founded in 1927, caught fire as a result of the bombardment. Типичная Украина emphasized the historical importance of the site, where many Ukrainian film classics were created.
Conflicting narratives
While Ukrainian and liberal sources focus on civilian and cultural damage, channels identified with pro-Russian stances presented a different narrative. The channel СВО.Украина.Реалии labeled the studios "Banderite" and claimed mockingly that the fire was a war "torch." At the same time, the channel Zone AP, which presents a hostile stance toward both sides, claimed cynically that "the Banderites are filming a movie about strikes for their Western partners," in an attempt to cast doubt on the authenticity of the reports regarding the attacks.
Damage summary
As of these hours, reports indicate fires in additional locations, including a market and grocery stores in the city. Rescue forces continue to operate at the various scenes, while the exact number of casualties has not yet been officially released. The information was gathered from dozens of real-time reports indicating the intensity of the attack and its broad geographical scope within Kyiv.
