Over the past weekend, two serious criminal incidents occurred in Turkey, leading to the deaths of seven people. According to reports in local media, the first incident took place in the Şemdinli district of Hakkari province.
As reported by gdh, a non-commissioned officer ranked 'Uzman Çavuş' (specialist sergeant) broke into his father-in-law's house and opened lethal fire. In the incident, his wife, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law were murdered. Haber Gündem noted the victims' names (H.) and reported that the attacker attempted to end his own life after the massacre, but he was evacuated to the hospital in critical condition, "suffering from severe injuries." Sputnik Türkiye and İhlas Haber Ajansı confirmed the details of the event, emphasizing the severity of the "family massacre."
At the same time, Haber Gündem reported on another shocking murder incident that took place in Antalya. According to the source, a teacher murdered his wife, who was also a teacher and mother to their three children, along with his father-in-law, using a rifle. Law enforcement authorities in Turkey have not yet provided an official motive for the incidents, however, reports in various media outlets, including TGRT HABER and GündemX, refer to these events as "family disasters" (Aile Faciası) that have shocked the Turkish public.
