[80889] Sharp Escalation in the Persian Gulf: Direct Fire Exchange Between Iran and the U.S.
Military Escalation in the Gulf: Fire Exchange Between the U.S. and Iran
In the last 24 hours, a significant escalation has been recorded in the Persian Gulf as the U.S. military and Iran exchanged military blows. According to Amir Tsarfati, who is identified with pro-Israel and Western positions, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces intercepted a number of Iranian ballistic missiles and UAVs, and in response, carried out "self-defense strikes" on an Iranian military command station on Qeshm Island. The U.S. military reports that all missiles and UAVs launched toward Kuwait and Bahrain were intercepted or missed their targets.
Conversely, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard claims, as reported by Amir Tsarfati, that it was the American attack on Qeshm Island that led to the Iranian response against American bases in Kuwait. The Middle East Spectator channel, which presents a critical position toward the West and a sympathetic one toward Iran, published footage it claims shows Iranian missiles on their way to American bases and questioned U.S. reports on the success of the interceptions, while mentioning previous incidents in which damage and casualties were caused to U.S. forces.
On the ground, reports in Bellum Acta pointed to the use of American Patriot batteries to intercept the threats, while noting footage of technical malfunctions in interceptions over the skies of Kuwait. At the same time, additional channels such as Geopolitics Watch noted that the "Shahed-136" missiles and UAVs were launched from the Khuzestan and Bushehr provinces in Iran, as well as from the Basra region in Iraq.
Against this backdrop, diplomatic attempts to achieve a ceasefire continue without tangible success. As published in the Jewish Truth Archive, despite reports of an initial agreement between Washington and Tehran, the situation remains static and frozen. President Donald Trump claims that the talks are continuing continuously, while critical elements on social media, such as Partisan_12, criticize the American administration and claim that Iran is embarrassing the U.S. by continuing the attacks despite declarations about the end of the fighting.
