In the last day, the city of Kherson experienced an intensive wave of attacks by Russian military forces using unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), which were directed at residential areas. According to reports from Суспільне Херсон and ZN.UA, channels that consistently report on the war from a Ukrainian perspective, these attacks caused extensive damage and casualties.
A tragic event took place in the Dniprovskyi district, where, according to a report by ZN.UA, an 86-year-old woman was killed as a result of a drone strike on a residential building. Суспільне Херсон notes that the woman was killed on the evening of June 2nd. At the same time, rescue forces reported additional wounded with varying degrees of severity, including cases of burns and smoke inhalation, who were evacuated for treatment at local hospitals.
The scope of the loss of life and property is very wide. According to an update by Суспільне Херсон, in the last day alone, 19 civilians were injured, including a child. The strikes were recorded in 37 different settlements across the region. Damage to infrastructure includes 11 multi-story buildings, 25 private homes, as well as damage to gas lines and agricultural equipment.
In additional reports from UA Stream, which tracks combat events, it was emphasized that the attacks did not spare various areas of the city, including the central district and the Korabelnyi district. In the central district, it was reported that two adults and an additional teenager were injured as a result of a drone strike on a building. Local authorities, including the Kherson Military Administration, are working to provide medical aid to the many victims while prosecution officials collect evidence on the ground.
