According to reports by the Al-Mayadeen network, which is affiliated with the Axis of Resistance and supports the Russian narrative, a Russian diplomatic source told the Russian news agency 'TASS' that the resumption of negotiations regarding the war in Ukraine depends on developments around Iran.

In addition, the same source noted that the administration in Washington is not currently among those striving to reach a peace solution. According to the source as published in Al-Mayadeen, the US ["is not currently headed at all toward a peace settlement for the situation in Ukraine"].

The reports, which were also distributed via the Al-Mayadeen Iraq branches and the بتوقيت بيروت channel, emphasize the strategic connection that Russia sees between the different theaters. The message emerging from the reports is that Washington is not showing a willingness to compromise, and that the Iranian crisis constitutes a key variable that influences Moscow's conduct regarding the war in Europe.
