The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) released an update on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, confirming that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) continues to operate in the Arabian Sea as part of the effort to enforce the naval blockade on the Islamic Republic.

According to a report by Iran International, which is identified with a critical stance toward the regime in Tehran, CENTCOM noted that American forces have so far forced 122 commercial ships to change their course to ensure the enforcement of the blockade. This figure was also confirmed by the network Al Arabiya Farsi.

At the same time, local Iranian channels identified with a conservative line, such as Khabar Fouri News and Fars International, emphasized that the blockade began on April 24 (24 Farvardin). According to these sources, the US Navy prohibited the movement of vessels to Iranian ports, and even attacked and disabled five ships that were making their way toward the country since the beginning of the operation.
