Home Front Command update: Extending defensive times in the north
Starting today (Tuesday) at 16:00, the Home Front Command is updating the defensive policy in 161 communities in the north of the country, including Haifa, the Krayot, and the Carmel. According to an announcement by the IDF Spokesperson, the defensive time in these areas will be extended from 60 to 90 seconds. The change comes after a professional process that included the establishment of a team of experts and operational and technological adjustments.
The Home Front Command commander emphasized that the move is intended to improve the response to the citizen, noting: "We continue to invest a significant effort in learning, drawing conclusions, and improving the response to the citizen, as part of the understanding that extending defensive times can save lives". Similar reports were also published by other media outlets such as News Line, Daphna Liel, and Moment News.
Concurrently with the activity in the north, the Home Front Command conducted a series of siren tests today in the Gaza envelope areas. According to official reports, the tests took place throughout the morning hours in Mavki'im (09:05), Nativ HaAsara (10:05), and Karmia (10:45).
Security sources clarified that in the event that a real alarm is triggered during the tests, an additional alert will be activated in the loudspeaker systems and the Home Front Command app. The information was confirmed by Security Flashes 24/7 and Voice of the News on Telegram. The public was advised to follow updates on the National Emergency Portal and via the 104 hotline.
