Indictment against Erman Toroğlu for spreading misleading information
The Public Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Turkish sports commentator Erman Toroğlu, in which a prison sentence of up to 3 years is requested. According to reports, the indictment was filed for the offense of "publicly disseminating misleading information to the public."
According to the channel gdh, the case stems from Toroğlu's statements on a television broadcast, in which he claimed that a meeting took place between Galatasaray chairman Dursun Özbek and İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu. According to the channel, this was false information that led to the filing of the lawsuit.
The channel GALATASARAY BAŞAKŞEHİR CANLI added that during his program, Toroğlu not only claimed that the meeting took place, but even detailed that various topics were raised that did not correspond to reality. This claim caused a great stir in sports circles in Turkey.
