According to the Public Prosecutor's Office in Qazvin, whose details were disseminated through the 'Akharin Khabar' news agency, the student fired four times at the woman's chest while they were in the process of separating. University authorities, including the institution's president Seyed Hamid-Reza Ghapleh-Bashi, emphasized that this was a "خصومت خانوادگی" (family dispute) and noted that the case is unrelated to the educational or administrative system of the university, as reported by Iran International and IRNA news agency.
