Russia launched a large-scale drone attack on cities across Ukraine tonight, causing casualties and heavy damage to infrastructure and residential buildings in Odesa, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia.
Large-scale air attack on Ukraine
During the night between May 31 and June 1, the Russian army launched a massive drone attack on Ukrainian territory. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, as reported in ✙ Київ Оперативний, 265 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types, including "Shahed," were launched. Air defense systems managed to intercept or neutralize 228 of them, but strikes were recorded at 27 different locations across the country.
Strikes in Odesa and Kharkiv
The city of Odesa sustained two significant nightly attacks. According to TCH.ua, a drone hit a nine-story residential building, causing partial destruction of floors and fires. Officials, including СУСПІЛЬНЕ НОВИНИ, reported at least five to seven injured across the city as a result of the attacks, with rescue teams still operating at the scene.
In Kharkiv, the city was attacked by 14 drones, as reported by Lachentyt. As a result of the hits, nine people were injured and heavy damage was caused to residential buildings, institutions, and infrastructure. Kharkiv Municipality noted that dozens of buildings were damaged, and hundreds of windows were shattered by the blast wave.
Additional sites and unusual incidents
In other regions of Ukraine, strikes and casualties were recorded: in Zaporizhzhia, a 73-year-old woman was reported injured after her private house was damaged. Concurrently, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, relentless attacks left four injured, one of them in serious condition. The Березовый сок Telegram channel emphasized that Russia continues its "deliberate attack on civilians" due to its inability to win on the battlefield.
In the domestic arena, it was reported in Реальний Київ regarding a violent incident in the Obolon district of Kyiv, where a driver shot another driver during a road rage dispute. The suspect was arrested in the Kyiv suburbs after a police pursuit.
