Throughout the day (June 1, 2026), a significant escalation was reported on the southern front in Lebanon. The Military Media of the Islamic Resistance issued an official statement according to which the organization's operatives attacked an Israeli military force at 01:00 in the eastern periphery of the town of Yahmar al-Shaqif. According to the Military Media, the attack was carried out using "a large number of rockets and artillery shells," and they claimed that "direct hits" were achieved on the force. This statement was supported by parallel reports on Al Jazeera Channel and Al Mayadeen Channel.
Simultaneously, the media channels of the "Islamic Resistance" reported that they succeeded in "confronting an Israeli Hermes 450 - Zik unmanned aerial vehicle" in the western sector of Southern Lebanon, using a surface-to-air missile. This report was confirmed by Sputnik Arabic, which noted that the target was downed or attacked as part of the organization's activities.
On the other hand, media outlets identified with the Axis of Resistance, such as the Gaza Now Network and Al Mayadeen correspondents, reported on a broad wave of airstrikes by the Israeli Air Force. According to the reports, residential houses and various areas were attacked, including the Al-Marj neighborhood in the town of Al-Marwaniyah in the Sidon District, as well as the bombing of the town of Burj Qallawiyah in the Bint Jbeil District.
