Difficulties in obtaining entry visas to Europe for Turkish citizens

According to reports published today, May 31, 2026, the Turkish news channels GündemX and Sansürsüz Gündem have revealed concerning data regarding the rejection rates of visa applications submitted by Turkish citizens to European countries.

According to GündemX data, the countries that impose the strictest restrictions on the entry of Turks are mostly member states of the Schengen Area. Malta stands at the top of the list with a skyrocketing rejection rate of 34.8%, followed by Poland (29.3%) and Sweden (26.5%).
