A minor stir surrounds the coaching position at the Turkish powerhouse club Beşiktaş JK. On May 31, 2026, BEŞİKTAŞ SEVDALILARI published an official statement on behalf of the club, categorically denying reports in print and digital media claiming that an "agreement in principle" had been reached with coach Oliver Glasner.

According to the club's statement, the reports of negotiations with Glasner, which even included claims of a two-year contract with an extension option and a salary of 5 million euros, are "completely baseless." The club emphasized that this is "biased news manufactured at a desk" and asked fans not to rely on these sources.

Conversely, earlier the BEŞİKTAŞ SEVDALILARI channel (affiliated with the club's fans) published a series of reports citing the media outlet "Sözcü," according to which the deal with Glasner was closed. The Haber Gündem channel also covered the topic and highlighted the gap between the reports and the official position of the club.

In its statement, Beşiktaş clarified that the process of finding the next coach is being conducted "with great precision" under the guidance of the club's football director, Önder Özen, and with the approval of President Serdal Adalı. The club promised that once an official agreement is reached with a coach, it will be published through Beşiktaş's official communication channels.
