Today, May 31, 2026, the capital of Ukraine marks its 1544th city day. The city, identified with resilience against Russian aggression, has received many greetings from officials and organizations. Mayor Vitali Klitschko emphasized that "the capital stood firm, the enemy did not break Kyiv and will not break Ukraine," and added that the city remains a symbol of "history, architecture, and an tireless will for freedom" according to the KMDA channel.
