[76506] Escalation on the northern border: Heavy rocket barrages and ongoing military activity in Lebanon
Security escalation in the north of the country
The northern border is experiencing a particularly tense day, as sirens were activated in several locations throughout the day. According to Almog Boker Updates, during the evening, fire was renewed toward Misgav Am and Metula, indicating the continued escalation in the sector.
IDF data and operational activity
According to a report in War Room 🎗️, the IDF is preparing for continued fire in response to the deepening of military activity in southern Lebanon. Data indicates that during the night, 10–15 rockets were launched from Lebanon, most of which were intercepted, alongside five UAVs launched during the day (two of which were intercepted). Additionally, an explosive drone detonated at noon in a military area with no casualties, as reported by War Room 🎗️ and Daphna Liel.
Criticism of the update policy
Meanwhile, sharp criticism is being directed at the conduct of the political and military echelon toward the residents of the north. War Room 🎗️ termed the situation "the government of abandonment and failures," claiming that while the IDF updated local authorities on the expectation of continued fire, "the public was not updated and Home Front Command instructions were not changed." The Kiryat Shmona municipality spokesperson summarized the difficult feeling in the region by noting: "A ceasefire exists only in Beirut and Lebanon, not here".
