[76290] Wide-scale Russian drone attack wave across Ukraine on May 30, 2026
Russian forces launched waves of drones toward several Ukrainian regions, including Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia, triggering widespread alert systems.
Wide-scale aerial attack wave in Ukraine
Throughout May 30, 2026, widespread attacks were reported using unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) launched by Russian forces toward a variety of targets in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force reported throughout the day on several groups of drones that penetrated the airspace from the north, moving along complex paths toward the regions of Sumy, Poltava, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, and even to the Donetsk and Mykolaiv areas.
Geographical spread of the attacks
According to reports from the єРадар channel, which specializes in air raid alerts, multiple drone movements were identified:
- In the Chernihiv region: Drones were reported on their way to Ovruch, Slavutych, Baturyn, and Koriukivka (see update here).
- In the Sumy and Poltava regions: Ukrainian forces tracked several drone groups that crossed from the Sumy region toward Poltava, including passage near Dykanka and Chutove (according to the Air Force).
- Additional areas: The channel ОПЕРАТИВНИЙ ІНФОРМ noted that drones crossed the Kursk region toward the Sumy region (Buryn vector), and activities were also reported in the areas of Zaporizhzhia (Slobodka), Kharkiv, and Kramatorsk.
Nature of sources and reports
All the reporting sources (Ukrainian Air Force, єРадар, and ОПЕРАТИВНИЙ ІНФОРМ) operate as official or community-based alert channels in Ukraine, focusing on monitoring airspace. The reports are characterized by a functional and tactical tone, focusing on precise geographical locations in real time to assist the population in preparing for attacks. No contradictory reports were presented by Russia within the sources checked, as the information focuses on aerial penetration routes and civilian alerts.
