Violation of the ceasefire in Lebanon: sirens heard in the Safed area
For the first time since the ceasefire went into effect in Lebanon, sirens were activated in the Safed area and its surroundings. The reports come from a number of Telegram channels covering the security arena.
Violation of quiet on the northern front: sirens in the Safed area
The relative quiet that prevailed since the beginning of the ceasefire in Lebanon was interrupted today (May 30, 2026), with reports of sirens heard in the area of the city of Safed and its surroundings. This is an unusual event, as it is the first time since the agreement was implemented that residents in this area are required to go to protected spaces.
The reports of the incident came from several prominent sources:
- The News from the Field on Telegram channel, which is identified with a critical stance toward the conduct of the government and the war in Gaza, noted that "this is the first time since the beginning of the \"ceasefire\" that sirens are heard in Safed".
- Ben Caspit - The Official Channel, a channel that presents a critical line toward the political echelon in Israel, similarly reported on sirens in the Safed area for the first time since the beginning of the ceasefire.
- Inon Shalom Yittach - Army and Security, which usually presents a line supporting the policies of the government and the military echelon, also confirmed the report and noted that "Red Alert in Safed and the surroundings" alerts were heard.
As of this hour, the authorities have yet to release full details regarding the nature of the impacts or the target of the launches, but the very activation of the sirens in the area signals new tension on the northern front after a period of relative quiet since the agreement went into effect.
