[75082] Iran rejects Trump's statements: "There is no final agreement or progress in the nuclear negotiations"
Iran responds to Trump's statements on the nuclear issue
The Iranian news agency Tasnim reported today, May 29, 2026, a sweeping rejection by Tehran of the claims made by US President Donald Trump regarding progress in the nuclear file. According to Iranian sources, "no final tafahum (understanding) has been reached between Iran and the US", and Trump's statements were described as part of a "normal behavioral pattern of expressing unilateral opinions."
Denial of agreements on enriched materials
Prominent media outlets, including TRT Arabic and Arabi21, emphasized that Iran officially refutes the claim that it has agreed to destroy its enriched nuclear materials. Sources identified with the resistance line, as reported by Quds Network, called the American claims "baseless."
The question of frozen assets and the crisis of trust
According to reports in the Quds Network, Tehran is setting clear conditions for any future progress. The Iranian officials clarified that "Trump's insistence on not releasing frozen assets increases Tehran's doubts regarding Washington's seriousness." It was further stated that "Tehran has been tasked with emphasizing again and again that the status of the assets must be defined before any initial understanding."
Additionally, it was reported by Al-Mayadeen that Iran calls for viewing Trump's statements regarding the lifting of the naval blockade with suspicion, noting that at this stage, there is no discussion taking place at all on details related to the nuclear file.
