Internet infrastructure crisis in Iran: Heavy loads due to IPv6 abandonment
Growing reports from technological media outlets in Iran indicate significant difficulties in the stability of the national internet network. According to the technological news agency سیتنا | CITNA, an analysis of network data over the last 48 hours shows that the share of the IPv6 standard in Iran's internet traffic remains "near zero."
The agency notes that the full return to using the outdated IPv4 infrastructure, coupled with the lack of implementation of the new standard, is creating heavy pressure on network infrastructure and NAT systems. The situation is defined by experts as a "serious barrier to achieving full stability" in the country's internet network.
These claims have received widespread resonance in various Telegram channels. The channel اخبارفوری خبرفوری جنگ امریکا حمله explicitly stated that "the reason for the internet slowness in Iran is a full return to IPv4 while IPv6 is still closed". Similar comments were also published by خبرفوری | اخبارجنگ فوری آمریکا, which emphasized that this is a structural problem affecting the browsing quality of users.
The channel فناوری فوری📡 also joined this editorial line, reporting that without a change in implementation policy, the pressure on existing infrastructure is expected to continue, which could permanently damage network services in Iran in the near future.
