The Turkish Ministry of Justice, led by Minister Akın Gürlek, has ordered the reopening of the investigation file regarding the armed attack on the Fenerbahçe football club bus, which occurred on April 4, 2015, on its way back from a match in Trabzon. According to a report by Sputnik Türkiye, the Minister ordered a new judicial review of the previous closure decision, in a step defined as "a decision to reverse in favor of the law."

In an official letter published on behalf of the club, Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü thanked the Minister for the "sensitivity and approach demonstrated" and noted that the incident was not just an attack against the club, but "an unacceptable assault on Turkish sports and the social conscience." The club emphasized that it has continued to demand justice throughout the years and that it sees this development as a significant step towards uncovering the truth.

Fenerbahçe presidential candidate Aziz Yıldırım also welcomed the move. According to a report in FENERBAHÇE HABERLERİ, Yıldırım called the events of that night "one of the darkest nights in the history of football" and added that it is proof that "our struggle for justice has been met at the highest levels of the state."

Minister Gürlek clarified in a statement quoted by FENERBAHÇE HABERLERİ that the goal of the re-examination, which is being carried out by the "Unsolved Crimes Investigation Unit," is to uncover negligence and bring those responsible to justice. The Minister noted that this is a mission backed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, promising that "we will not allow any case to remain in the dark."
