[72638] Ukraine announces 'logistic lockdown' against the Russian army; details of 'Azov' Corps achievements
The Campaign in Ukraine: 'Logistic Lockdown' and New Combat Doctrine
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, led by Minister FEDOROV, announced the launch of a "Logistics Lockdown" program aimed at increasing the use of "Middle Strike" attacks in the enemy's operational depth. According to reports in ТСН новини and Оперативний ЗСУ, the initiative comes in light of a dramatic increase in the "cost" of Russian advancement, which rose from 67 casualties per sq. km in October to 179 in April. The government allocated an additional 5 billion Hryvnia for the purchase of advanced strike capabilities for outstanding units measured by the "ye-Baly" (єБали) system.
At the same time, commander of the 1st National Guard Brigade "Azov", Brigadier General Denys "Redis" Prokopenko, published an op-ed in "Ukrayinska Pravda" analyzing the structural failures of the Russian army in the face of Ukrainian adaptability. Prokopenko emphasizes that while the Russian army suffers from centralized command and "attrition of junior command echelons," Ukrainian forces have adopted the "Auftragstaktik" (mission-type tactics) doctrine, which grants flexibility and broad authority to commanders on the ground, as noted in In Factum.
The Corps' achievements in the past year include, according to reports, the establishment of new units such as the 41st "Pilum" unmanned systems battalion and the 8th "Harmash" Brigade. Prokopenko notes that the Corps has succeeded in achieving precise strike capabilities against Russian logistics, depots, and infrastructure up to a depth of 250 km, which helps neutralize threats to Ukrainian defense lines.
Other experts and officers, including Major Mykola Kolesnyk, emphasize that the goal is not merely the destruction of individual vehicles, but the "disruption of the entire logistical system." According to him, strikes on junctions, ports, and supply lines force the Russians to shift to less efficient transport methods, which significantly reduces the intensity of fire directed at Ukrainian infantry on the contact line. All reporting sources present a clear pro-Ukrainian position, highlighting the successes of local technology and the shift in command perception.
