[72590] Series of airstrikes against targets in the center of Gaza City, reports of dead and wounded

Over the past day, dozens of Palestinian and Arab media outlets have reported a series of intensive Israeli airstrikes in the center of Gaza City. According to Al Jazeera and other sources, the strikes focused on buildings in the area of Omar Al-Mukhtar Street and the vicinity of the Al-Israa Tower. Initial reports indicated a few deaths, but the number gradually rose throughout the day as rescue operations continued.

The Palestinian Red Crescent updated that the death toll in the main strike rose to 10 people, including 4 children, alongside dozens of wounded. Simultaneously, Quds News Network reported the arrival of casualties at the "Al-Saraya" field hospital, noting that the bombing was aimed at a residential building crowded with civilians. Shehab Agency added that among the dead were two women and two children.

In other reports, identified with a journalistic line critical of Israel, sources were cited reporting 18 deaths in total across the Gaza Strip since the morning hours, according to Yemen News Network. Concurrently, the Hebrew Walla website is quoted in Palestinian reports as claiming that the targets in the strike were senior figures in Hamas's military wing – the Northern Brigade commander and the deputy commander of the Gaza Brigade.
