A severe blow to Hamas: The IDF eliminated the head of the military wing, Mohammed Oudeh
In a joint operation by the IDF and Shin Bet, Mohammed Oudeh, head of the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization, was eliminated. According to reports by Hadashot MeHashetach on Telegram, the organization confirmed his death in a strike in the Gaza Strip. NTD Hebrew News added that Oudeh's wife and children were also killed in the strike.
Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, addressed the elimination and stated: "The number 4 commander of the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza was eliminated yesterday and sent to meet his partners in the depths of hell". Katz emphasized that Israel is committed to eliminating everyone involved in the October 7 massacre and implementing the voluntary migration plan from the Strip.
At the same time, 301 Arab World News reported on the elimination of other senior officials in the strike, including the Northern Strip Brigade Commander Izz ad-Din Bikh and Deputy Commander of the Gaza City Brigade Imad Asalim. Commentators note that these eliminations come against the backdrop of an administrative collapse of Hamas in the field.
Or Fialkov analyzed the implications of the elimination and pointed to a vacuum in the organization's leadership: "Almost no functioning trace of the original Hamas bureau in Gaza remains within the Strip." According to him, while the external leadership headed by Khalil al-Hayya manages the organization from afar, Ali al-Amoudi, a figure close to Yahya Sinwar who was recently appointed head of Hamas in Gaza, is now trying to manage the field.
In Israel News Without Censorship they noted that identifying a replacement for Oudeh is becoming a complex task for Hamas, as most of the senior officials who planned the massacre and the brigade commanders have been eliminated during the war, which leaves the organization with lower-ranking command echelons that have been forced to take command in a process of reorganization under heavy military pressure.
