Sputnik Türkiye reported that as of now, 600 suspected cases of infection and 139 deaths have been identified, which led to the postponement of the India-Africa summit that was planned to be held in Delhi at the end of May. According to the experts cited by the agency, the danger stems from the emergence of a rare Ebola strain for which a vaccine has not yet been developed, as well as the spread of the epidemic in conflict zones that complicate the medical response.

Alongside the official reports, voices have emerged questioning the organization's motives.
