Extensive UAV attack against Kyiv and northern Ukrainian regions

During the morning of May 23, 2026, an extensive attack was reported using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that penetrated several regions in northern Ukraine, including the capital, Kyiv. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a number of locations where hostile craft were identified moving towards the south and west, while triggering alert systems.

According to reports from the "Kyiv Dome" monitoring center, the craft moved along complex routes through areas such as Borodianka, Hostomel, Irpin, and Pushcha-Vodytsia. The Kyiv INFO Telegram channel confirmed that at least one UAV passed near the city of Bucha on its way to Kyiv, while the єRadar channel updated that the activity of the craft began as early as the Chernobyl area and continued from there to Ivankiv.

At the same time, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the movement of UAVs in the Zhytomyr region as well, near the city of Korosten. Simultaneously, air defense forces in the Chernihiv region reported craft over the city and its suburbs, and craft moving along the Kozelets route, which indicates a multi-pronged attack on the northern regions.

The reporting sources, identified with Ukrainian security and monitoring bodies, emphasize the need for increased caution for residents of the relevant areas due to the use of swarms of unmanned aerial vehicles.
