Suspected Russian Involvement in Strategic Real Estate Deal in the Heart of Kyiv
According to an investigation by UK Reporter, disturbing reports have been published regarding an attempted takeover of a strategic plot of land in the heart of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. The site is a complex of approximately 4 dunams (approx. 1 acre) near the "Olimpiyskiy" National Sports Complex, which is owned by the French company LSGI.
According to reports from Труха⚡️Україна and Батальйон «Монако», local businessman Oleksandr Spektor is acting to acquire the land. Sources indicate there is grave concern that this is a "front" for Russian interests, with lawyer Yuriy Nartov representing the seller's side.
In a detailed report by Новини.LIVE, it is revealed that Spektor previously managed business partnerships with Russian citizens, including Mikhail Mayton and Ilya Kryukov. It is further alleged that until May 2024, Spektor held 40% of a company in which Mayton was a partner, and that following changes in the holding structure, the latter's share increased to 20% — an action defined by the source as "prohibited under Ukrainian legislation during a state of war."
Following the revelations, the social organization "Caliber" appealed to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) with a demand to stop the sale and block the assets in question. Activists emphasize that the land is a strategic asset in the business center of Kyiv and that Russian capital must not be allowed to gain control over it.
Note: The reporting channels (Труха⚡️Україна, Батальйон «Монако», Новини.LIVE) are identified with a distinctly pro-Ukrainian line, emphasizing the fight against Russia and Russian funding sources during the war.
