[67423] Ukraine prepares for the start of university entrance exams (NMT) tomorrow
Opening of the national examination season in Ukraine
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine announced that starting Tuesday, May 20, 2026, the series of National Multi-subject Tests (NMT) will begin for 11th-grade students. According to Times of Ukraine, the test results are expected to be published by July 3, while students who are unable to participate in this session for justified and documented reasons will be able to take an additional session that will take place between July 17 and 24.
Preparation in the shadow of war
Preparations for this year's exams are being carried out with a special emphasis on student safety. According to Suspilne Kharkiv and My Kharkiv 💙💛, 43 temporary testing centers have been prepared in the Kharkiv region across 16 different settlements. These centers are designed to operate within shelters and are equipped with independent infrastructure, including backup systems for electricity, water, and air conditioning, which allows for the continuation of the exam even during air raid alerts.
Structure of the exams
According to reports on UA.NEWS, the test will include four subjects, of which three are mandatory and the fourth is chosen by the examinee. Additional sources, including Kyivskyi Dvizh, Vsevidyashche OKO: Ukraina, Novyny Odesa | Odesa, and TSN novyny, confirmed the details of the dates and emphasized that the option for an additional session in the summer will be available to those who provide official documentation justifying their absence from the main session.
