A drama unfolded on May 19 in Moscow, when a group of masked individuals, dressed in military gear and armed with weapons and sledgehammers, broke into the building where the editorial office of the Moskovsky Komsomolets (MK) newspaper is located. According to reports by Readovka, the armed men behaved violently toward security guards, refused to identify themselves, and threatened to break down doors and barriers at the entrance.

The editor-in-chief of the newspaper, Pavel Gusev, told the 'Vedomosti' agency (as quoted by Varlamov News) that the newspaper's management did not identify the intruders, who proceeded to the third floor of the building. Gusev described the situation as a "strange and unclear situation." In a report by 'Ostorozhno Novosti', it was noted that the operational activity focused on a company named 'Consortium Medtekhnika', a non-profit organization that provides medical equipment under government contracts.

According to 'Meduza', the consortium is linked to defense industry figures and has previously assisted in projects related to the 'Innopraktika' foundation of Katerina Tikhonova, the daughter of Russian President Vladimir Putin. While opposition-affiliated channels, such as NEXTA Live, attempted to link the event to the silencing of journalists, sources identified with the establishment emphasized that this is a business-criminal dispute and that it has no connection to freedom of the press.

Representatives of the editorial staff, including journalist Eva Merkacheva, clarified that the intruders barricaded themselves on the third floor and refused to cooperate even with the police and National Guard forces that arrived at the scene. The newspaper's management submitted formal requests to law enforcement authorities demanding clarification regarding the unusual raid in the heart of the capital.
