[63385] Ukrainian cargo plane detained in Trinidad and Tobago due to presence of explosives
Detention of a Ukrainian cargo plane in Trinidad and Tobago
Aviation authorities in Trinidad and Tobago detained an Antonov An-12 cargo plane, crewed by Ukrainians, during a refueling stop in the country. According to reports from СУСПІЛЬНЕ НОВИНИ and Тарас Григорович повідомляє, the detention was carried out after undeclared explosives were found on board the aircraft. The plane, which was en route to Libya, aroused suspicion among local authorities.
Following the completion of inspection procedures, the authorities decided to release the plane and the crew. According to the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, it was determined that the crew "bears no responsibility" for the cargo found on board the aircraft, which led to the closure of the case.
At the same time, the UA Stream channel reported on the incident, highlighting the opening of an initial investigation by local authorities into the matter. While the reports are consistent regarding the detention itself and the cargo found, these networks serve as conduits for conveying official information and initial reports from international event scenes for the Ukrainian audience, without clear political bias in this case.
