Starting next week, the Moscow region is facing a significant heatwave expected to bring peak temperatures of 30 to 32 degrees Celsius, according to various sources. According to Новости Москвы, the temperature is expected to remain high throughout the work week, with noticeable relief arriving only by next weekend.

The Hydrometeorological Forecast Center (associated with the official pro-Russian stance) notes that these are temperatures that may break historical records for May 19th to 21st. Experts, including Mikhail Leus from the 'Phobos' Center, explain that the source of the heat is a warm tropospheric ridge arriving from Central Asia, a phenomenon that occurs in Moscow only once every five or six years.

At the same time, the Telegram channel Москвач reports that alongside the heatwave, unstable weather conditions are possible, including rain and thunderstorms expected as early as Sunday. City health authorities are warning allergy sufferers about high concentrations of birch pollen, which is exacerbated by the weather conditions.
