This morning, May 16, 2026, Ukraine once again observed the national minute of silence at 09:00. This initiative, which unites the country every morning, is intended to commemorate the memory of the soldiers, civilians, and children who lost their lives since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

According to the official channel КМДА – офіційний канал, the public was called to "stop and remember those whose lives were cut short by the war." An identical message was broadcast on Оперативний ЗСУ and Українська добровольча армія, which emphasized the importance of this moment as a symbol of national resilience.

Additional media outlets, including Львівич | Новини, Суспільне Херсон, and Ми Україна | Новини сьогодні, emphasized that this is a commemoration of everyone who fell as a result of "Russia's armed aggression." ЦСП «ОМЕГА» added that in this ceremony, they also remember the children who fell "at the hands of the Russian occupiers."

Yan Dobronosov shared documentation showing how this unity is also expressed in public transportation, as "Ukrzaliznytsia" trains halt their operations for one minute. Other forces, including 92 ОШБр ім.Івана Сірка and 🧿Моніторинг Одеса🇺🇦ППО України, noted that the sacrifice of the victims is "the foundation for the country's future" and that the memory remains etched in the hearts of Ukrainians.
