The Andriy Yermak Bail Case: The Involvement of Serhiy Rebrov

On May 14, 2026, the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) imposed a detention sentence with the possibility of release on bail of 140 million UAH on the former Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak. Yermak is suspected of involvement in money laundering totaling 460 million UAH as part of a construction project in the Kyiv suburbs.

According to reports from numerous media outlets, led by «Ukrainska Pravda» (UP) and «Schemes», the former coach of the Ukrainian national football team, Serhiy Rebrov, deposited 30 million UAH as part of the total bail amount. Rebrov has not responded to media inquiries on the matter, but has previously stated in interviews that Yermak is a "decent" person who was involved in his return to Ukraine to coach the national team.

As of the latest updates, the total bail raised stands at only about 44.5 million UAH. Aside from Rebrov, among the other donors reported by Radio Svoboda are Roza Tapanova, director of the "Babyn Yar" reserve (8 million UAH), and lawyer Serhiy Svyryba (6.5 million UAH). Actor Hryhoriy Hryshkan donated a symbolic sum of 666 UAH.

While most outlets are covering the event as a major criminal-political issue, entities such as «STERNENKO» have expressed sharp criticism towards Rebrov, while incorporating negative opinions regarding his professional performance as a coach. The case continues to resonate due to Yermak's status as a key figure in the administration and the high sums required for his release.
