Wave of drone attacks over Kyiv and its surroundings

This morning, May 15, 2026, Kyiv and its surroundings experienced high alert due to a wave of attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Local Telegram channels reported throughout the morning hours about dozens of UAVs, likely of the "Shahed" type, moving toward various targets, including Vyshhorod, Lebedivka, Zhukyn, and other areas in the Kyiv region.

According to the monitor channel, at least 4 UAVs were identified over the Kyiv Reservoir. Simultaneously, the Труха⚡️Київ channel reported continuously on flight paths, noting that some of the vehicles performed maneuvers in the area. The Реальний Київ | Украина channel reported that echoes of explosions were heard during the incident as a result of air defense system activity, and called on residents of the Obolon area to exercise extra caution after a "hostile UAV invasion over the city" was identified.

Additional channels, including Київ Головне, reported varying estimates regarding the number of vehicles, with approximately 4 UAVs noted in the area at the peak of the event, some of which "appeared to possess guided maneuverability." The ЗСУ ДВІЖ △💪🇺🇦 channel – which maintains a distinct pro-Ukrainian line – also confirmed the movement of the vehicles in the Kyiv Reservoir area.

Toward 07:30, the level of activity was significantly reduced. The Труха⚡️Київ channel updated that the aircraft in the Brovary area ceased appearing on radars, and reports of "further reconnaissance" (dorozvidka) began to appear across social networks, indicating the end of the immediate wave. Residents were instructed to continue following official guidelines until the threat is finally cleared.
