Meta is expanding sharing options on Instagram with the launch of a new feature called Instants. As reported on the Technology - The Leaker channel, these are photos designed to disappear immediately after viewing or, at the latest, after 24 hours.

According to information published on 📱 Tech Updates 💻, the new tool allows for sharing photos "in real-time with close friends or mutual followers." One of the key characteristics of the feature, as noted in the Gadgety report linked through the channel, is the lack of the option to edit the photos – a step apparently aimed at promoting more authentic and spontaneous content over polished filters.

The service, which is available as a built-in feature within the Instagram app and also as a standalone app in certain markets, comes with security systems. According to Tech Updates, the system includes "built-in privacy protections and enforcement of community guidelines" to ensure a safe space for sharing temporary content.
