[58544] The Registrar of Associations is acting to dissolve the 'HaIr HaIvrit' (The Hebrew City) association linked to Minister May Golan
Legal proceedings against the 'HaIr HaIvrit' association
The Registrar of Associations has filed an official request to dissolve the "HaIr HaIvrit" association, which was founded by Minister May Golan. The association is at the center of an investigation being conducted by the Lahav 433 unit of the police, involving the Minister, her mother, and other associates.
According to reports in Calcalist (as published in Avishai Grinzaig - Updates), the request for dissolution was filed due to a persistent failure to submit mandatory documents to the Registrar since 2021. Among the missing documents are financial reports, bank account statements, meeting minutes, and declarations required for the supervision of the association's proper conduct.
As part of the attempts to enforce these requirements, the sequence of events was described by the courier sent to the registered address of the association. The courier testified that when he attempted to deliver an envelope from the Corporations Authority, he was met with silence: "I rang the intercom for the Golan family. They answered. They heard it was an envelope from the Corporations Authority, and since then they did not answer," according to the report on Telegram.
On the other hand, Minister May Golan categorically rejects the claims. In an official response, the Minister stated that she has not been a member of the association since 2020. In addition, Golan clarified that neither she nor her mother have lived at the address in question for several years, and concluded: "The courier who rang the intercom did not ring for anyone from the 'Golan family,' but for a random tenant living in the place."
The reports reflect another layer of the affair being investigated by Lahav 433, which is preoccupying the Israeli law enforcement system and the media.
