Unusual text messages from Iran reached mobile phones in Israel

During the day (May 12, 2026), a large-scale wave of text messages sent to the mobile phones of Israeli citizens was reported, the content of which is directed by Iranian entities. According to the Telegram channel اخبارفوری خبرفوری جنگ امریکا فوری, known for its distinct anti-Western and pro-Iranian editorial line, the messages call on recipients to contact Iranian embassies worldwide or "cyber operators" with the goal of initiating intelligence cooperation.

The text of the message, as reported in [msg_link: https://t.me/km_ap/491264129], reads: "The Islamic Republic of Iran invites you to cooperate in the intelligence field." The message ends with a manipulative appeal to the recipients: "Start building your future right now."

The report was verified by additional channels on the Telegram network, including اخبار فوری ایران و آمریکا™ | جنگ | NEWS, which is also identified with narratives close to Iran. This channel emphasized that this is a targeted operation directed at the Israeli home front, while attempting to create a false impression of an opportunity for cooperation.

Professionally, the distribution of the messages is perceived as part of psychological warfare (PsyOp) aimed at creating panic, confusion, or an attempt at cheap intelligence gathering through social networks. As of this moment, there has been no reported official response from Israeli security agencies regarding the technical source of the distribution, but it is an event that has gained exposure of over 22,000 views in the reporting networks close to Iran.
