The Giant Revolution at Fenerbahçe: Aziz Yıldırım and Hakan Şafi in an Arms Race Ahead of the Elections
The election campaign at the Turkish giant club Fenerbahçe is heating up, as presidential candidates present grandiose recruitment plans. According to reports in the 'Fanatik' newspaper, cited in Fenerbahçe Ruhu, legendary former president Aziz Yıldırım is determined to "build a very strong squad" with the goal of ending the title drought the club has experienced since 2014.
Aziz Yıldırım's Recruitment Plan
According to Fenerbahçe Ruhu, Yıldırım has set his sights on signing Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy, for whom he is "prepared to pay 30 million euros." In a message posted, it was noted that the candidate plans to close a deal with at least three senior reinforcements even before the elections, with the prominent names on his list being Jan Oblak, Romelu Lukaku, Alexander Sørloth, and Kim Min-jae.
Hakan Şafi's Initiative
At the same time, candidate Hakan Şafi is presenting an offensive line of his own. As reported in FENERBAHÇE AŞKI, Şafi was spotted in Milan, where he held intensive negotiations regarding Rafael Leão. The report claims that Milan might be willing to release the Portuguese star for 50 million euros. In addition, Şafi is exploring the possibility of bringing in Mike Maignan, Jan Oblak, and Pavlidis from Benfica.
The reporting sources focus on promoting the candidates' ambitions, without presenting systemic criticism of the excessive financial plans being presented. The reports reflect an atmosphere of a media and sports arms race leading up to the decision at the club's ballot boxes.
