Iran's Ministry of Health responds to the panic surrounding the 'Hantavirus'

Following a wave of reports on social media, officials in the Iranian Ministry of Health have issued clarifications regarding the Hantavirus. According to the official news agency IRNA, which is identified with the government's official line, Dr. Raisi, Deputy Minister of Health, emphasized that "the Hantavirus is not new and has existed in the past".

In parallel reports published by Akhbarin Khabar and Salamat Fouri, the Deputy Minister was quoted as saying that "transmission of the Hantavirus from person to person is extremely rare". This position is intended to dispel public concerns that have recently arisen online.

On the other hand, the Telegram channel Ye_DaneshAmoz presented a more sensational version of the report. While the channel quotes the Ministry of Health regarding the low chance of infection, it chose to add a headline warning that "if it does spread, the mortality rate is one hundred percent", using sharp and alarming language that contradicts the calming tone of official government sources.
