TV presenter Andriy Domanskyi moved to Russia and obtained citizenship

According to an investigation by journalist Georgiy Shabayev from the project Схеми, former Ukrainian TV presenter Andriy Domanskyi received Russian citizenship on December 17, 2022. The reports, which gained wide attention on Ukrainian Telegram channels such as ЦАПЛІЄНКО_UKRAINE FIGHTS and ТСН новини, indicate that the passport was issued by the Russian Interior Ministry in Saint Petersburg.

In addition to the revelation of his citizenship, it was reported by hromadske and Ху Київ | Україна that in March 2023, Domanskyi began working as a programmer at 'Sovcombank Technologies,' the IT division of a Russian bank under international sanctions. ЄвроМайдан noted that this constitutes a pursuit of his professional interests, but criticized his decision to settle in Russia given his professional background in Ukraine.

The reports emphasize that since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, Domanskyi has disappeared from the public sphere in Ukraine. Ми Україна added that according to travel data, Domanskyi and his family stayed at a luxury resort in the UAE in January 2024, at a cost of approximately half a million rubles.

Numerous media outlets, including Цензор.НЕТ, recalled that Domanskyi had previously expressed views considered pro-Russian, including controversial statements in 2018 against decommunization processes in Ukraine. Prominent figures online, as published on Женьок Вещає…, expressed deep disappointment regarding the shift in loyalty of the presenter, who was previously perceived as an "icon" of the Inter channel.
