Extensive reform in the Ukrainian Armed Forces: salaries, contracts, and changes in recruitment roles
The Ukrainian government plans to launch a comprehensive army reform in June 2026, according to various sources, primarily ТСН новини / ТСН.ua. The reform is intended to regulate service conditions, establish clear demobilization criteria, and significantly raise the salary levels of soldiers. According to reports in "UP" (also distributed by Оперативний ЗСУ), a new compensation system for the infantry is planned, based on a "10/20/40" model – a daily payment for presence at positions, raiding, or offensive operations, which will bring a soldier's salary to the range of 250,000–400,000 hryvnia per month.
In addition to salaries, a reform in the contract system is planned, which will include the definition of fixed service periods of 10 months for active combatants and 14 months for new recruits, with the goal of enabling orderly discharge. At the same time, Новини.LIVE reports on the Ministry of Defense's intention to turn recruitment offices (TCC) into "Reserve+ Offices," utilizing extensive digitization and closer cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
Sharp rise in fuel prices
In the economic arena, there is tension among drivers following a sudden rise in fuel prices over the last weekend. According to reports by Труха⚡️Україна and Всевидящее ОКО: Україна, the "Ukrnafta" chain raised gasoline prices by 5 hryvnia per liter, with the price of A-95 gasoline climbing to 74.90 hryvnia. On the other hand, UA.NEWS notes that the market remains "inhomogeneous," as other chains kept prices unchanged and even lowered the price of diesel at several points.
