Political storm surrounding responsibility for the October 7 failure

Following remarks made by Minister Miki Zohar earlier today, a firm response was registered from the chairman of the "Together" party, Naftali Bennett, and from the "October Council." The political system is in an uproar over the issue of political and security responsibility for the massacre on October 7, 2026.

Naftali Bennett, who presents a harshly critical stance toward Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accused the outgoing government of conducting a "campaign of escaping responsibility" for the blood of the victims. Bennett declared that he intends to establish a state commission of inquiry when elected, and argued that the current government is the one that "transferred suitcases of dollars to Hamas" and allowed the terrorist organization to grow on the border.

Simultaneously, the October Council, an organization identified with criticism of the political echelon, responded to Zohar's words with a firm message: "We do know when the 7.10 massacre occurred - on your watch." The organization emphasized that the government's attempt to shift responsibility will not bring the 2,100 murdered people back to life, but will only "dishonor their deaths."
