During the last 24 hours, there have been widespread reports on social media regarding brisk movement of combat aircraft in the skies over Iraq. According to the channel واحد العراق, which reports on security events throughout the country, American aircraft were observed in the skies over the capital Baghdad as well as in the Sinjar district area of Nineveh Governorate. The channel emphasized that this is “intensive activity continuing for hours”.
Elements affiliated with the “Resistance” (Al-Muqawama) line, such as the channel جنوب لبنان راصد العدو, provide a narrative that emphasizes foreign involvement. In their publications, they described the activity as “Zionist-American” aircraft flights at low altitude piercing the skies of Baghdad. This channel, known for its hostile stances toward the US and Israel, refers to the aerial presence as a provocative step.
At the same time, additional reports from channels such as ابن بغداد noted that these are “unknown” (majhouloon) pilots patrolling over the capital city. The نهج المقاومة channel reinforced the claims regarding the intensity and frequency of the flights, defining the activity as “very heavy”.
In total, tens of thousands of views were recorded for these reports within a single day, indicating high alertness among the Iraqi public in light of the aerial activity reported in various areas of the country.
