[53442] Escalation in Southern Lebanon: IDF casualties from drones and extensive strikes against Hezbollah
Escalation on the northern border: Wounded from drone fire and IDF strikes
The IDF Spokesperson confirmed that yesterday (Wednesday), one IDF soldier was severely wounded and three others were lightly wounded as a result of an explosive drone strike in southern Lebanon. Abu Ali Express noted that this incident brings the number of casualties from the organization's drones in the last 24 hours to seven. Following the disclosure, Hadashot Mehashetach on Telegram published an internal IDF document from about a year ago, which warned that "15-20 km from the line of contact is not a safe rear area," a warning that, according to the report, did not receive sufficient attention.
Simultaneously with the operational activity, the IDF Spokesperson reported the continued targeting of the terrorist organization's command echelons. Channel 8200 News noted that since the beginning of the ceasefire understandings, over 220 terrorists and commanders have been eliminated, including the commander of the 'Radwan Force' unit, the organization's air defense chief, and the intelligence department commander of the Nasser unit. In addition, the IDF struck over 15 terrorist infrastructures including warehouses and weapons production sites.
In the eastern sector, IDF forces from the 'Yoav' Brigade thwarted a weapons smuggling attempt, when they intercepted a drone carrying 11 pistols. On the other hand, Hadashot Mehashetach on Telegram reported that the Home Front Command disabled the "Shoal" civilian alert system in the north due to fears of information leakage to Iran, which makes it difficult for local authority heads to manage the area during alarms.
Security tensions are also reflected in the political sphere. Zirat War reported that Iran is expected to deliver its response to the American proposal to end the war, while Shachar Kleiman, Arab Desk assessed that Israel is determined to dismantle Hezbollah's threats regardless of the parallel negotiations with Tehran.
