The Russian government has approved new amendments to the regulations for calculating seniority for military pension purposes, granting significant benefits to volunteers participating in the "Special Military Operation" (SMO). According to the report by the state news agency TASS, which is identified with a distinctly pro-Kremlin stance and supports Russia's foreign and security policy, every day of service in volunteer units will now count as a triple day of service (a 1 to 3 ratio) for the purpose of calculating the pension.

In addition, the amendments stipulate that periods spent by volunteers in hospitals due to injury or illness during service will also be recognized as "combat seniority" for all intents and purposes. These details were also confirmed on the Telegram channel Ramzay, which presents a similar editorial line supporting the Russian administration and promoting patriotic military narratives.

According to the report in TASS, the government has already accepted the relevant amendments to the regulations. The move is apparently intended to improve service conditions and compensation for volunteers, against the backdrop of the ongoing need for manpower in the campaign.
