At the start of the Victory Day celebrations on May 7, 2026, several Russian Telegram channels reported on a series of patriotic activities. The Popular Front (an organization identified with enthusiastic support for the Putin administration and the military campaign) marked 15 years since its founding, highlighting its role in bridging social gaps and assisting various sectors. According to the Popular Front, the organization's goal is to "never overlook the troubles of others" and to provide a response to injustice.
At the same time, Sakh.online reported on the launch of the annual "Flame of Remembrance" (Огонь памяти) operation in Red Square in Moscow. As part of the operation, particles of the "Eternal Flame" are transferred to World War II veterans in Russia, as well as to participants in the "Special Military Operation" in the regions of Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, and Kherson.
Outside Russia's borders, it was reported on the Colonelcassad channel (a channel with a distinct pro-Kremlin orientation) that an "Immortal Regiment" march took place in the capital of Cyprus. The participants carried portraits of their ancestors who fought in the war and held a festive concert that included traditional Russian war songs.
