The Home Front Command announced that starting today, Thursday, at 16:00, the alert time will be extended in 49 communities throughout the Upper, Lower, and Central Galilee. The move is intended to improve the response for citizens and strengthen personal security in light of campaign developments.
According to the report by Dr. Amir Bohbot, the Home Front Command Commander, Major General Rafi Milo, noted that the decision was made after a "structured, responsible, and based on cumulative experience" process, in cooperation with the Northern Command and the Air Force. Within this framework, a team of experts was established that examined the operational and technological capabilities in these communities.
Details of the changes:
- Extension from 30 to 45 seconds: In 46 communities, including Acre (including the industrial zone), Karmiel, Rosh Pinna, Yarka, and Hatzor HaGlilit, according to Amit Segal and Almog Boker.
- Extension from 30 to 60 seconds: In only 3 communities – Kfar Masaryk, Ein HaMifratz, and Arab al-Na'im, according to Kol HaHadashot on Telegram.
The changes were presented to the heads of local authorities, and according to Political-Security Cabinet - Moriah Asraf & Doron Kadosh, the updated data will be implemented in all Home Front Command alert platforms, including the Home Front Command app and sirens. The security authorities emphasized that the move is reviewed on an ongoing basis, and further updates may occur according to operational conditions on the ground, as also reported by ynet news and Ariel Kahana.
