In a description of the shocking case, the Daniel Amram Uncensored channel reports that on November 30, 2022, while arriving to deliver a package in Paradise, Texas, Horner kidnapped 7-year-old Athena Strand who was outside her home. According to the channel, in a report detailing the evidence revealed, Horner admitted that after the girl tried to escape, he "brutally attacked her, strangled her, and caused her death shortly thereafter," and then dumped her body in a remote area.
The case led to an extensive search operation involving hundreds of police officers and volunteers. Horner's confession during interrogation, combined with forensic evidence and footage from his delivery vehicle, led to his conviction.
