[52688] Iran denies report of an agreement with the US and threatens military response
Iran responds to reports of a possible agreement with the US
Against the backdrop of reports in the American media about a possible agreement between Tehran and Washington, the spokesperson for the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Ebrahim Rezai, responded sharply today (May 6, 2026). According to reports circulated in various Telegram channels, including Iran International (known for its critical line toward the Iranian regime) and groups identified with supporters of the government such as חامیان پزشکیان and خبرفوری, Rezai labeled the report on the 'Axios' website as an "American wish list" rather than a reality on the ground.
Rezai stated in a post that "the Americans will not achieve in a doomed-to-fail war what they did not achieve in direct negotiations." The spokesperson emphasized that Iran does not intend to succumb to pressure and added an explicit threat: "Iran has its hand on the trigger and is ready. If they do not surrender and grant the necessary concessions, or if they try to carry out provocations – they or their 'dogs' – we will respond with a harsh and regrettable reaction."
The messages were widely published in other channels as well, such as Military Hut and اخبارفوری, presenting a unified stance by Iranian officials that any American attempt to exert military pressure is expected to fail. These channels emphasize Tehran's operational readiness as part of the regime's official narrative, which attempts to project stability and strength in the face of reports about secret diplomatic contacts or forming agreements.
