Opening of SAHA 2026 Exhibition in Istanbul

On May 5, the international defense, aerospace, and space exhibition SAHA 2026 opened in Istanbul. The event, taking place at the Istanbul Expo Center, is considered one of the largest of its kind and is organized by the SAHA Istanbul organization. According to TurkishNews, more than 1,700 companies from 120 countries are participating in the exhibition, with the presence of approximately 30,000 industry professionals.

Technologies and Innovations

As part of the exhibition, hundreds of land, naval, air, and space combat systems were presented, many of which were unveiled to the public for the first time. According to reports by TRT Haber, the Turkish state body that promotes the achievements of the national industry, this is an opportunity to demonstrate technological power. The Türk Savunma Sanayi Haberleri channel, which focuses on reports about defense industries, added that among the innovations one can find "advanced technological weapon systems, missiles with a range of 6,000 km, and suicide vessels and aircraft."

One of the prominent displays is the "MIZRAK" loitering munition manufactured by the Baykar company, which is equipped with artificial intelligence capabilities and has an operational range exceeding 1,000 km.

Public Guidelines and Transportation

Following the event, it was reported in Haber Gündem that traffic disruptions are expected in the Bakırköy district of Istanbul, with certain roads being closed to traffic between May 5 and May 9. The public has been invited to participate in the exhibition during an open day scheduled for May 9, but they are required to register in advance to receive a free electronic entry ticket.
