[50991] Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories: 44,000 Gaza residents have left for third countries
Update on the departure of residents from the Gaza Strip
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) published official data today stating that approximately 44,000 Gaza Strip residents have left the area through land crossings on their way to third countries. The authorities noted that the figure reflects the situation as of the current date and that the departure process is expected to undergo updates and changes in the near future.
According to the report on Abu Ali Express (a channel identified with a critical stance toward Hamas and Iranian opposition figures), current guidelines call on "Gazans holding dual citizenship or exit visas and their family members" to contact the relevant embassies in order to arrange their departure.
These data were also confirmed by Hadashot 360, which echoed the words of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories and emphasized that this is an ongoing process. Both channels emphasize that further updates regarding procedures for leaving the Strip are expected down the road.
